Anyone want to venture an early prediction? I overheard people saying the other day that they were sure that Obama would get a second turn, even though most people thought he was shite, just because of the absence of sensible alternatives being fielded by the Republican party. What’s your line on that?

He’s “cute”, I reckon he’ll be in for another term too.

The reason I think that is because I don’t follow American politics… but I heard about Obama and I still do from non-news sources. I don’t hear about any Republican or 3rd Party candidates, so I’m inclined to think none of them must “pack a punch” like Obama packed one with his “Yes We Can” sentiment.

Or am I just cynical and think that questions of morals and economics go right over the heads of voters in America like they do in The Republic of Ireland?

I think most Americans, especially those in the south and midwest, are more than dumb enough to vote for this guy.

I now officially know too little about this upcoming election to have an opinion at this stage.

And I’m beginning to think it more resembled The World Cup or some kind of sporting event that has nothing to do with anyone’s lives… except for the fact that it will ultimately effect me here in West Ireland. It’s a scary dynamic, American politics. I wish you guys would just cut it out.
